Melon Stuff: CSA Members

Melons are a summer time favorite, especially the specialty varieties that we grow here at peace watermelonLotFotL. These varieties are chosen for excellent flavor and texture. This is why we get comments like “That was the best melon I have ever had in my entire Life”. The drawback to growing these great tasting melons, is that they are not chosen for their ability to travel and store well. The result, is they can sometimes arrive to their destination broken, over ripe, or bad! What to do?

My melon was awesome and we ate it right up: Great! We get a lot of comments like this. That is why, despite the obstacles in getting melons to our CSA members, we take our chances and send them out.
My melon was broken: We do the best we can to safely cradle your fragile melons into your boxes, but occasionally there is a mishap. If you give us a call we will do our best to find a way to replace it.
My melon was not ripe: We use every trick we know to harvest healthy ripe melons, but short of cutting them open ourselves, we will occasionallymisjudge this fruit. Let us know and we will see what we can do about replacements.
My melon was rotten: We suggest that you put melon on your eat me first list when you pick up the boxes. Being melons are very perishable, we occasionally send one out that looks and feels great when it is packed and by the time it gets to you it has started to go bad. If when you remove it from the box, it is not edible, please let us know.
